1. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, MERE)
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2016
2. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, MERE)
(STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2016

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above
Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be as
follows:

Order 1
To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Mere) (Prohibition and Restriction
of Waiting) Order 2003, The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Mere) (Prohibition
and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2003 (Amendment No.1) Order 2004 and The
County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Mere) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting)
Order 2003 (Amendment No.2) Order 2009 and re-enact them, in part, in the above
Order 1 the effect of which will be as follows:
a) To remove No Waiting Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm and replace with No
Waiting Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm
on the following length of road:
The Square (U/C 813204 between B3095 and Church Street) – south side – from
a point 2 metres west to a point 2 metres east of a point in line with the western
boundary of No.4 The Square
b) To remove No Waiting Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm on the following length
of road:
The Square (B3095) – north side – from a point 28 metres east of its junction with
Manor Road to a point 6 metres east of the boundary between Nos. 6 and 7 The
Square
c) To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of roads:
Church Street – south side – from a point 5 metres east of the junction with Angel
Lane to a point 5 metres west of that junction
Ivy Mead – both sides – from its junction with Water Street for a distance of 10
metres in an easterly direction
Salisbury Street – north side – from the boundary if properties known as ‘Vogue
Cottage’ and ‘Indigo Blue’, Salisbury Street to a point opposite its junction with the
access road to the car park
Salisbury Street – south side – from its junction with the access road to the car park
to a point 48 metres west of that junction
Water Street – both sides – from a point 5 metres south of its junction with Ivy Mead
for a distance of 66 metres in a northerly direction
Water Street – south west side – from a point 66 metres north of its junction with Ivy
Mead to a point 8 metres east of the boundary of properties known as ‘Knoll View’
and ‘Stone Cottage’, Salisbury Street

Order 2
To revoke i) The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Mere) (Street Parking Places)
Order 1994 and ii) The County of Wiltshire (The Square, Mere) (Prohibition of
Driving) Order 2003 and re-enact i), in part, in the above Order 2 the effect of which
will be as follows:

a) To remove Parking Places Operating at All Times with Waiting Limited to 30
Minutes Return Prohibited Within 1 Hour Mon-Sat 9.30am – 4.00pm for All
Vehicles Under 3.5T Maximum Gross Weight
on the following lengths of roads:
Boar Street – south side – from its junction with The Square (southern side) to a
point 19 metres west of its junction with Barnes Place
The Square (B3095) – north side – from a point 6 metres east of the boundary
between Nos. 6 and 7 The Square to a point in line with the boundary between the
properties known as ‘The Pharmacy’ and ‘Bower House’
The Square (B3095) – south side – from a point 50 metres east of its junction with
Angel Lane to its junction with Boar Street
b) To introduce Parking Places Operating at All Times with Waiting Limited to 1
Hour Return Prohibited Within 1 Hour Monday to Saturday 9.00am - 6.00pm For
All Vehicles Under 3.5T Maximum Gross Weight
on the following lengths of
roads:
Church Street – north side - from its junction with The Square to the boundary of
properties known as ‘Angel House’ and ‘The Old Fire Station’, Church Street
The Square (B3095) – north side – from a point 28 metres east of the junction with
Manor Road to a point in line with the boundary between properties know as ‘Cross
House’ and ‘Bower House’
The Square (B3095) – south side – from a point 50 metres east of its junction with
Angel Lane to its junction with Boar Street
The Square (B3095) – south side – from a point 20 metres west of a point in line
with the western boundary of property No.4 The Square to a point 5 metres east of its
junction with Angel Lane

Copies of the draft Orders, plan and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for
proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council,
County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the
proposed scheme may be seen at Mere Library, Barton Lane, Mere between the
hours of 10am to 7pm, 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9.30am to
1pm Wednesday and Saturday until 18
th
April 2016. Documents can also be viewed
