NOTICE OF ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

 

Notice is hereby given that the above meeting will be held in

 

DUCHY MANOR, SPRINGFIELD ROAD, MERE

on

Wednesday, 24th April 2024 at 6.00 p.m.

 

We are changing the format of this meeting to give more of an opportunity to become involved in the priorities of the work of the Town Council for the following year as well as hearing about the achievements of the Town Council and other organizations that benefit the town. Your support would be much appreciated.  If you have any particular questions that you would like to ask, please submit these to the Town Council by midday on 15th April to enable a response to be given at the meeting.

 

AGENDA

  1. Welcome by the Chair of Mere Town Council
  2. To approve as a true record the minutes of the Annual Town Meeting held on Wednesday, 26th April 2023
  3. The Chairman will give a formal report on the work of the Town Council during the last year.

 

Networking and involvement

  • The Minutes of the 2023 Town meeting will be displayed
  • The unaudited Statement of the Town Council Accounts for the year ended 31st March 2024 will be displayed and the Town Clerk who is also the Finance Officer will be available to answer questions.
  • It is hoped that representatives from Seeds4Success, Mere Matters, Mere & District Linkscheme, Mere Carnival and the Parochial Charities will be in attendance to answer questions and explain or display their work.
  • The Town Council’s project co-ordinator will be in attendance to talk about the Activities in Mere (AIM) event that will be taking place in August
  • There will be displays about the roles and responsibilities of Wiltshire Council and Mere Town Council
  • There will be displays about the recent work carried out by the Town Council, future project priorities such as refurbishment of the play equipment in the Recreation Ground, refurbishment of public toilets etc. and an opportunity for members of the public to give suggestions on these projects and priorities.
